Vishal Bhardwaj’s direction is brilliant. He has narrated the drama in a very engaging manner. His brilliance is evident in a number of scenes. Vishal Bhardwaj’s music is lovely. The Oopar paan ki dukaan and Ishq hua songs are the best, the first being a lovely dance number, and the other being very melodious. On the whole, O’Romeo is an entertaining fare and will do well in spite of the start being less than expected.

At nearly three hours, the film feels long. It unfolds like a novel that does not know when to end. While that literary quality might be intentional, cinema demands tighter storytelling. The songs, though melodious, add to the indulgence. There are simply too many of them, and not all push the story forward.

The ‘Romeo’ bit is a bit of a misnomer. The film doesn’t work as well in the romance department as it thinks it does. Ustara and Afshan do share a few soft moments, but they needed to have kindled more. The film itself is handsomely mounted, with some well-shot action sequences– one which Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri ace as a shooting-and-scooting pair– but I kept wanting to feel more.

It is unsurprisingly A-rated, but we have seen worse. The violence in O’Romeo, graphic as it is, is never sans a moral context. Killing isn’t easy, Ustara says to Afshan. When you kill, you cross a line, and a human becomes a monster, he adds. The screenplay is aware of that truth and never strays from it.

One of the film’s biggest strengths is that there are no “pure” characters. Everyone exists in shades of grey, yet none of them feel hateable. The cinematography, production value, and background score are mounted on a grand scale, giving the film a larger-than-life feel.If you’re looking for an intense love story and strong performances around Valentine’s Day, O’Romeo is worth watching.

While Afsha says, “Mohabbat ek baddua hai…jo mujhe bhi lagi hai…or aapko bhi,” I advice you to book you tickets ASAP and watch the film not once but twice this Valentine’s Day weekend – you will not be disappointed. It has the perfect of blend of dance, drama and danger amid tons of bullets, blood and betrayals. This review is 100% honest, we aren’t bluffing, aka, lagaoing shendi

O’ Romeo follows the story of Ustara, a local gangster living on a boat with his grandmother. His life changes after Afshan enter with her revenge. Ustara and Afshan’s worlds collide and bloodbath begins. Shahid Kapoor picks Ustara’s mannerisms perfectly. His personality shift leaves an impact. Triptii Dimri is brilliant as Afshan. Avinash Tiwary’s entry sets the tone right.

It is an altogether mood – dark, poetic, and violent. While the pacing might test the patience of the ‘fast-forward’ generation, the chaos and the dreamy setup make it a must-watch in the theaters! Shahid Kapoor’s poetic rage, Triptii Dimri’s brooding revenge, and Avinash Tiwary’s evil power make this tale a bloody world you might not want to enter, but definitely should!

Triptii Dimri plays the role of a vengeful widow with absolute brilliance. She is ready to learn how to be a lady hitman to take revenge on her husband’s murderers. The film clearly shows that every underworld don has a backstory too. O’ Romeo is undoubtedly a complete massy entertainer, but the script never thins down. A big shout-out to Vishal Bharadwaj for giving such a solid film with quirky dialogues, brilliant music, and engaging performances by each of the actors. A salute to the captain of the ship of O’ Romeo!
